Employment Based Immigrant Visas
The U.S. offers permanent residency to eligible workers, investors, and professionals through employment based (EB) visa categories
EB-1
For priority workers, including individuals of extraordinary ability, outstanding professors or researchers, and multinational executives/managers
EB-4
For special immigrants, such as religious workers and certain Afghan/Iraqi nationals who worked with the U.S. government
EB-5
For immigrant investors who invest a minimum capital of $800,000 into a new commercial enterprise or a qualifying regional center project, creating or preserving at least 10 full-time jobs for U.S. workers
Family Based Immigrant Visas
Family-based immigrant visas allow U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents (Green Card holders) to sponsor eligible relatives for permanent residency in the United States
Immediate Relative Visas (IR)
For close family of U.S. citizens, including spouses (IR-1), unmarried children under 21 (IR-2), and parents (IR-5). These visas are not subject to annual limits
Family Preference Visas (F)
For other qualifying relatives, such as adult or married children and siblings of U.S. citizens, and spouses or children of Green Card holders. Categories include F-1, F-2A, F-2B, F-3, and F-4, and are subject to yearly quotas
